For GPs
Practise aged care medicine without doing it alone.
Aged care medicine is good work. We take care of the parts around it, so you can focus on the residents. Care plans prepared, a nurse practitioner on the team, and one point of communication with the facility.
The model
The medicine is yours. The scaffolding is ours.
-
Care plans prepared for you
We prepare structured care plans for your review and sign-off, so your time goes into the clinical decisions rather than the drafting.
-
A nurse practitioner on the team
Our nurse practitioner completes comprehensive medical assessments, giving you a thorough, documented starting point for each resident.
-
One point of communication
We act as a single communication point between you and the facility. Families are encouraged to contact the facility directly, which protects your time.

Questions
What GPs ask us
Will I be employed by Umbrella Aged Care?
No. The GPs who practise with Umbrella Aged Care are independent general practitioners engaged under a contractor agreement. You remain responsible for your own clinical decisions and hold your own professional indemnity.
Where would I work?
Our GPs visit residential aged care homes across South East Queensland, and we are expanding into Northern NSW. Tell us your area when you register and we will talk through the facilities near you.
How much work do I need to take on?
Tell us what you would like to do. We are looking for GPs at every stage, from those adding a session to those wanting to build a larger aged care list.
What does it cost?
Our costs to GPs are low. We explain the full arrangement on the first call, before you commit to anything.
Is Umbrella Aged Care accredited?
We are currently undertaking full general practice accreditation under the National General Practice Accreditation Scheme.
The doctors who practise with Umbrella Aged Care are independent general practitioners. Each doctor is responsible for their own clinical decisions and for the care they provide to their patients. Umbrella Aged Care provides the coordination and administrative support around that care.
